Life Update...

Queens!

It has been longgggg overdue! I haven’t blogged in almost three months! Geez. That’s probably the longest I’ve been away from the blog, but so much has been going on in my life (mostly good).

If you’re a fan of my web series, you’d be glad to know that we begin production for season 2 this weekend. This is part of the reason I’ve been away. Producing and writing a web series is very HARD work and it is extremely time consuming, and quite frankly it’s plain ol’ frustrating. I haven’t been able to sleep well for the past two weeks because I’m constantly thinking of things that need to be done. I’m sure you don’t want to hear my sob story so I’ll move on LOL.

Other than making sure the fans get season two of The C-Word, I’ve been traveling and honey I mean T R A V E L I NG! I’ve been traveling so much that I need a break from it. No, but seriously. I thank God for the opportunity to explore new places, but man it can be so tiring from a change in time zone, to constant packing and long flights.

This summer I went on an 8-day Caribbean cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Amber Cove and Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk. It was absolutely amazing. Not only was the cruise ship bomb, but the islands were just as beautiful. This was just my second time traveling out of the country and the experience was amazing. I love submerging myself into different cultures!

I also traveled to Ocean City, MD for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was about my 50th time (no exaggeration) to that beach, but my boyfriend had never been, so I wanted to take him. In addition, I traveled to California twice in one month. The first time I went to attend GLOW Fest in Los Angeles because my web series was nominated for Outstanding Drama and to my surprise I was also nominated for Best Writer, and I won!!! I still can’t believe I won. It is a huge honor, so expect great things from me in the production/screenwriter world ;)

My second trip to California consisted of visiting my cousin in Mira Loma and visiting a Temecula winery. We had a blast! Then my mom and I traveled to the desert (Palm Springs). Palm Springs is absolutely gorgeous. It’s literally God art everywhere. The scenery is amazing and so are the restaurants. I’ve never been to a city that was so clean. I never saw any trash while I was there and all the restaurants (including fast food spots like Jack in the Box) had grade A health code inspections.

I honestly feel like I didn’t sleep much this summer LOL. I either had an event to attend or a place to travel to, so you can probably see why I haven’t blogged. I have also been feeling a bit uninspired. Sometimes when I become overwhelmed all I want to do is nap and eat. I know it’s not the healthiest choice, but if you’ve been reading my previous posts, you know that I struggle with rest sometimes. True rest. I always have something going on. I mean ALWAYS and I do not treat myself with the best self-care. It’s difficult for me to find balance, so pray for me. I actually just started a devotion about getting rest (not just sleep). I am applying what I am learning to my life and I believe that my life will become much more balanced. I’ll go more into detail in another post.

BUT, now I’m back and promise to put myself on a blogging schedule. I want to post at least once a week and I plan on sticking with it. What did you do for summer? Did you travel?
