2019 Goals

Happy New Year Queens!

I hope the past 17 days of the new year has been amazing for you. 2019 is breezing on by just like 2018. Whew! Anyways, today’s post is about my goals for 2019. I don’t make resolutions, but I make goals and then check at the end of the year to see how many I accomplished. For 2018 I actually accomplished most of my goals and I didn’t even realize it until I looked back at what I wrote. This year, I hope to accomplish ALL of my goals. What are your goals? Here is a list of mine.

  • Pay credit card down to $1,000 (in 2016 I let my pride get the best of me. Instead of asking for help with groceries, I used my credit card to buy them because I had moved out on my own. I didn’t rack up charges on random stuff, but it still added up plus interest) In 2018 I continually paid on it and I knocked it down about $1,000. My goal this year is to pay it down again this much if not more to pay it off.

  • Read more (new book every other month- 6 books this year) I haven’t started on my first book, but I plan on starting Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs with my fiance by the beginning of February.

  • Stay on schedule with blogging and find more bloggers.- I plan on blogging every Wednesday, but I already failed with that LOL. I try my best, but being a puppy mommy doesn’t allow much time for me to get things done. If I cannot post every Wednesday, I will at least post once a month. As for finding bloggers, I would like to get back to not running this blog alone. It’s tough being the only one creating content when you already have a puppy, a web series, a wedding to plan, etc.

  • Increase social media presence (post at least 3x per week)- This goal is going to be the hardest to accomplish. If you read my blog post about my issues with social media, you’ll totally understand. I’m trying to find a balance, but I still haven’t really posted this year yet. sigh, I know. LOL. I have a good amount of followers, but I know I can increase them by being more consistent.

  • Pray more individually and as a couple.- In 2018 I would say my prayer life definitely diminished. I was going through a lot, and to be quite honest, during the times I probably should’ve been praying, I didn’t want to. It’s a reality that is tough to say as a Christian, but sometimes you just don’t FEEL like praying when you feel depressed and overwhelmed. My goal this year is to get back to spending alone time with God and journaling. Hopefully my puppy allows it :)

  • Secure sponsored posts for blog/social media- My goal this year is to kind of become an influencer. I guess on a small-scale I already am, but I’d like to work with small businesses for sponsored content. I actually have already secured something for the web series, so that’s amazing!

  • Save/Pay for wedding without using credit- Whew lawd! Weddings are EXPENSIVE and it is honestly so discouraging. I’m not a super fancy gal, but I would like a nice ceremony and reception without breaking the bank. Me and my fiance have come up with a way to save for our wedding so that we are paying in cash and not in credit. Thank God for supportive parents too!

  • Bulk up emergency fund- Since I’ll be getting married in a few months, this is extremely important. In 2018, I started putting money away in case of emergencies and it really helped me when unexpected expenses bore their ugly heads. This year I would like to save even more so that if something huge happens, my fiance and I won’t be running around frantically.
