My Skincare Faves ft. Nolaskinsentials

Happy Hump Day Queens!

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile, you should know about my love for skincare. I love trying new products and finding the best way to care for the supple skin God has blessed me with. You only get one face, and I want it to look as healthy and youthful for as long as possible!

NOTE: This is not a paid advertisement. I purchased all these products and these are my true thoughts.

Back in February I posted my skincare routine, but since then a lot of things have changed. I started using new products last month and I am totally in love. The company is called Nolaskinsentials, and their products are vegan and all-natural. They offer a range of products for ALL skin types too. So if you struggle with dark spots, acne or even dryness, they have a full range of products specifically for your problems.

I’m a dry skin girl, especially in the winter! My skin feels so rough and it even cracks all over my body. I have to keep exfoliation on rotation and a great moisturizer to protect me from the harsh DMV weather. Most moisturizers do a pretty good job for me, but some leave me TOO moisturized and borderline greasy. But I finally found the perfect moisturizer!

Well first, let me tell y’all that I purchased the Dry skin bundle. This consists of a facial cleanser, a facial hydration mist, and a moisturizer. I also bought a sample size of the Green Tea Antioxidant Face Mask and the Eden Glow Body Scrub. I’ll break down each product I use.

Hyaluronic Aloe Cleanser

The description says it is a mild facial wash for dry skin. Key ingredients include: hyaluronic acid, coconut milk, and mango butter. Though this cleanser does not lather, it leaves my skin feeling clean (without feeling stripped), soft and hydrated. I had to get used to it being a creme because I previously used foaming cleansers. I will say that if you wear makeup, you should remove your makeup with a remover wipe or micellar water, cleanse with a facial wash made for removing makeup, and then use the Hyaluronic Aloe Cleanser to remove any lasting makeup and replenish your skin with moisture. Make sure you shake this product before using.

After cleansing at the end of my shower, I hop out, dry myself off, gently pat my face with a paper towel (remember towels hold dirt, grime and nasty bacteria), and then apply the Rose Hydration Mist. I use 3-4 sprays to cover my entire face. Make sure you shake this product before using. I allow my face to dry for about 1 minute and then I move on to my moisturizer. I do plan on trying one of their serums after the mist and before the moisturizer. Any time you need a boost of hydration, it is safe to spray this on your face.

Hydra Creme

The final step of this trio is the Hydra Creme moisturizer. This is my favorite part. Not only does it smell AMAZING (my husband says it smells like Macadamia nut cookies), but it keeps my skin moisturized ALL day without residue. It’s a pretty thick consistency, and a little goes a long way. However it is still lightweight. I feel like I can face a blizzard with no problem using this moisturizer. Dry skin girls, this is a must have! Winter is approaching.

Green Tea Antioxidant Face Mask

This face mask is probably the best mask I have ever tried. Normally I go for a charcoal mask, but honey this Green Tea mask is a game-changer. My husband and I use it every other week. According to the website, it can be used 1-2 times a week, but I think my skin is a little to sensitive for that. While using this mask, I can literally feel my pores being sucked and emptied. It gives the skin a slight burning/tingling sensation, but it isn’t painful. I leave it on until it completely dries (about 15 mins) and then I rinse it off with warm water. Make sure your skin has been cleansed before using this mask. If you have extremely sensitive skin, I would recommend one of their other masks.

Eden Glow Body Scrub

I use this body scrub to polish and exfoliate my body and my bikini area. Again this product smells so good! It isn’t as grainy as other scrubs. It’s pretty gentle, which is good for areas like arm pits, bikini line, etc. I have also used it on my legs, but I will see if it is effective on my thighs during the winter months when I have extreme dry and dead skin.

In addition to this line being BOMB, I just love that it’s great for my skin, and created for people of color! You can tell that these products are handcrafted. I mean who needs chemicals, dyes and other funky ingredients, when the cure is right in our backyards? Oh, and they also have products for men! Yes girl. Treat your man to some products that will have his skin and beard glowing and growing ;)
